Warlock Pvp Gear

As time has went along Blizzard has done a better and better job of eliminating confusing gear choices, however when it comes to Warlock Pvp Gear things are just as confusing as ever. Depending on who you talk to you might hear different opinions of what you should and shouldn’t be going after so I wanted to put together a quick guide on what has worked well for me in the past.

The first thing you need to realize is your spec is going to make a difference in what stats you want to max out. As this is a pretty basic Warlock pvp guide I am not going to go into extreme detail but I’ll give you some basic guidelines to follow.

First things first though before I get down to it…if you are wearing Pve gear while doing arenas you fail…fail…fail. I hear people all the time try to justify wearing pve gear but there is a reason Pvp gear exists folks..you need that extra stam and resilience to keep from getting 2 shotted by melee classes.

Affliction Warlock Pvp Gear

Affliction Warlocks rely on their ability to put out damage while on the move. When you are equipping items keep this in mind. I can’t tell you exact what to equip here in this short little guide because it also matters on whether you are doing 2′s, 3′s, or 5′s. I, however, like to stack haste to around 400 or so. The reason is, this makes your global cooldowns shorter which means you can cast faster. Faster casts means you can stay on the move and avoid taking too much punishment.

Once you get your haste up to around 400 or so the next stat I try to work on is spell damage. I don’t worry about crit much because its unreliable damage. Sure its nice when a dot ticks hard but I’ll take reliable consistent damage I can count on any day over the occasional luck hit.

One thing you are not reading about is me stacking stam gear. There is a good reason for this…back in the day you had to actually try to get stamina but now if you are wearing Warlock pvp gear you are more than covered when it comes to that. You don’t need to be walking around with 30k hp all the time. I personally have done just fine with 26-28k hp.

Destro Warlock Pvp Gear

Ok, so now that you have a very basic idea on which Warlock pvp gear is best for affliction you might be interested to find out about destro lock gear. Again, this is only a very basic guide as I can’t possibly cover all the details of Warlock Pvp gear in this one short article but if you want to know more about the subject I recommend you check out Tony Sander’s guide here.

When it comes to Destro gear this is the one time that I feel you have got to go after crit. Unlike affliction locks you are going to find yourself exposes from time to time and the more damage you can do the better. Often times a properly geared Destro lock can drop an opponent before his cooldowns have even worn off.

Once you have your crit rating at an acceptable level you are going to want to go after haste. Remember, faster you cast the more dps you can do. Now, again I know that this guide leaves a lot to be desired and that’s because Warlock pvp gear is such a large topic but if you are really interested in performing well in arena I recommend you check out Tony Sander’s Pvp Guide.
